Feathers and Magic

www.dmweddings.com
My Inspiration:
I can't begin to express the amount of inspiration I found at Universal Studios, Wizarding World of Harry Potter (not-sponsored). Simple details can give you the biggest ideas. Feathers! Why not use feathers in your centerpieces or even more exciting, why not have a real ink well with a quill for guests to sign an antique looking love spell book. You could even include prompts for guests to get extra creative in your special guest book.

Roses, Orchids, And Glitz

My Inspiration:
I found the roses and clear bubbles, meant to be used as tree decorations, at Michaels (not sponsored) during a sale, which started the gears in my mind working towards a unique and fun centerpiece. After additionally finding the mirrored vessel it kick started my imagination to join all these elements and led to this glitzy design filled with glittering features, water, and delicate flowers.

Sew In Love

My Inspiration:
If you are 'sew in love' with your partner (haha get it...sew...so...sorry I love a good pun) consider including sewing elements in your wedding or making it your theme. You could incorporate antique sewing machines into floral centerpieces, use thread spools to distribute escort cards, create pin cushion boutonnieres, fill glass containers with buttons to serve as accent pieces, give tiny sewing kits as your favors, create a guest book out of patterns and bind it with thick thread, and find a venue that you can give an old sewing mill makeover to.

Be Our Guest Napkins

www.dmweddings.com

My Inspiration:
It is plain to see why this inspired me. My sister and I sat down to a delightful meal at Be Our Guest in Walt Disney World (not sponsored) and the menus were not only pure inspiration for a wedding invitation but the way they folded each linen napkin into a rose was as well. We have used this napkin fold many times now and it is always a hit.

Winter Wonderland

www.dmweddings.com

My Inspiration:
When a client told me she wanted a winter wonderland theme for her event my thoughts wandered to ice rinks, snowflakes, and soft candlelight. I was especially inspired by the bare branches that fill our forests and roadsides during winter. The lanterns offered a warm glow for ambiance, faux flowers sprinkled with flocking dust added to the winter submersion, and birch branches in glass containers fill with snow (sugar) gave height and charm to the room.
