Vendor Alert! Photographer

Learn More About Kelly Long Photography

 Hello it's me Kelly.
A mother of 2 daughters and a son, a wife to my high school sweetheart, a photographer and captivating artist from Northeastern PA.  If something has to do with the arts I probably had my hands and possibly my arms up to my elbows in it at one point. I have been working with art since I was a wee little one scribbling on almost everything with crayons and markers. High school every elective was simply placed with an art class, and when I was in any other class my notes were paired with some artistic doodle on the side. Its safe to say art was slowing consuming my life.  After graduating high school in 2001 I went to school for Graphic Design and in 2003 I graduated with my Associates degree. Feeling like I haven't explored enough art in my life I went back to school for my Bachelors in Fine Arts. I graduated from Bloomsburg University with a degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Photography & Graphic Design and a Minor in Art History.  Currently I'm attending Kutztown Univerisity for my Masters in Art Education and Certification for K-12 art.  Throughout all my art educations I've gone through classes for drawing, illustration, painting, graphic design, fabric design, sculpture, and YES photography to name a few!!! I would have never guess that photography would have been the one that stood out from the rest...I enjoyed every minute of it!!! It wasn't until I picked up my first film SLR camera as a Freshman in college that a whole new door opened up. From taking the photos, developing my own film, and creating the prints in the dark room. It wasn't until my senior year in college that I decided to buy my first digital SLR camera and decided that starting my own business is what I wanted to do with the talent that I was provided within my life. In photography I'm able to use my creativity as an artist to capture the moments in life so you can treasure them for a lifetime. I absolutely love and have great passion for what I do!!! What sets me apart from other photographers is my knowledge for the fine arts, photography and the ability to create a fun experience during our session. Not only do I capture that brief moment of opportunity of a great big smile from a shy kid, a laugh from a group of friends, and the look on your soon to be husbands face as you walk down the aisle. I also pay attention for ways to create a composition like no other. I take these and many other things into considerations when photographing. I use my other skills in art to create unique props that are used during your sessions. My background in art along with your special moments help me to create what becomes wonderful photographs for you to cherish forever.

Q & A
OKAY I AM READY TO BOOK NOW WHAT?: Contact me to book your session and go over details.  Once you've selected a date, I require a 20% non-refundable security deposit, which locks in your date!  Deposits are transferable if a date change is necessary. Forty-eight hours (48) notice of postponements or cancellations is appreciated.   If it is not possible for a session to take place on a scheduled day due to weather, Photographer and Client will reschedule on an agreed date at the earliest date possible, with no additional charge.  The remaining balance of the portrait fee is due on the day of Client’s portrait session and is payable before shooting begins.  As of August 1st 2016 all portrait sessions are subject to Pennsylvania 6% sales  Act 84 of 2016
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK? This, of course, depends on the session type. For example, I think some of the best maternity photos are taken between the seven and eight-month mark. Newborn photos should be taken within the first two weeks of your child's birth and engagement session photos should be taken with enough time to get your photos back so that save-the-dates and/or invitations are sent out in a timely matter. Other than that, when you book is up to you!
WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE: The price covers pre consultations via email, phone, or meeting face to face, shooting time, travel and set up time, post editing, and fees.
DO YOU PROVIDE MINI SESSIONS? Yes, please be sure to subscribe to my email or follow me on facebook for monthly Mini Session announcements
IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE PHOTOGRAPHED: There is no limit to the number of people in one photograph for outdoor photos.  Indoors studio photos there is a limit of 5 due to the limited space.
WHAT KIND OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE?: For Payment in addition to cash payments, I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, PayPal and personal checks.  Orders of $300 or more may qualify for a payment plan.  Payment plans must be completed before the order is submitted or delivered.  Payment plans are set up via credit/debit payments.
DO YOU OFFER PAYMENT PLANS?: I do! I understand that photographs are an investment and paying in one lump sum isn't always ideal. My payment plans are most popular with my wedding packages and milestone package, but I will offer them for all my sessions. I prefer a weekly, monthly or quarterly payment plan, but we can work together to devise a plan that works perfectly for you.
DO YOU HAVE PROPS? I do offer limited props.  I recommend bringing props to your session that you would like to use to make your photos memorable and add a personable touch.  We can discuss the look you would like to achieve and discuss if I have the props available at the time of consultation.
DO YOU HAVE CERTAIN LOCATIONS YOU USE? I do have go to locations that I have used.  We can discuss the look you are trying to achieve at the time of consultation and choose one of my locations or use a new one that you have in mind.  I’m always up for new locations and traveling.  Traveling fees may apply.
DO YOU HAVE AN INDOOR STUDIO?  I do have an indoor studio which is limited to mostly children and small families.  We can discuss this further during our consultation
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?  I enjoy helping my clients come up with some ideas on what to wear and what not to wear.  Ultimately, what you wear depends on what you're most comfortable in. If you are unsure about what's most flattering or what will go best with your location setting, don't hesitate to reach out and connect. I have lots of ideas!  WHAT TO WEAR
WILL YOU COME TO MY HOME? Definitely! While most of my sessions take place on-location, we can always take photographs at your house. This option is particularly popular with newborn photos and sometimes family sessions. Do note that I prefer to photograph in a room that's extremely well lit with natural light.
DO I HAVE CONTROL OF THE IMAGES YOU SHARE? Of course. No matter what session I'm photographing, I will always make sure that you have a say in whether or not I post to social media or my blog.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY IMAGES?  The waiting game is never any fun. For that reason, I work quickly to get your proofs to you. For larger events where lots of pictures are taken -- including weddings or corporate events --, this can take up to two months. For smaller sessions, I typically have proofs to you within two to four weeks.  Expedited charges of 50% of total package rush fee will be applied if you want your session sooner than the 2 week turnaround time.  Please keep in mind that unexpected circumstances can change turnaround times.  If this should be the case I would contact you as soon as possible to let you know.
For Al la Carte packages an in-person consultation to review the proofs will be scheduled within 2 weeks of the session date. The purpose of the review appointment is to make your print package purchasing decision so please plan to bring all the people involved in this decision.  At this time client will then receive access to a private online photo gallery. If the client does not choose their prints for their print credit during the session preview they forfeit their print credit.  Prints, and speciality products will then be ordered and available within 3 weeks of fully paid products. All print and product orders through me must be paid in full before order is placed.
Please keep in mind that unexpected circumstances can change turnaround times.  If this should be the case I would contact you as soon as possible to let you know.
I HEARD YOUR SHUTTER GO OVER WELL OVER 100 TIMES WHY DIDN’T I GET THEM ALL?  I know you are over the moon to see everything that came out of my camera that day.  However beautiful as they are, there are always those shots that are less than perfect due to blinking, off colors, posing mishaps or other situations out of my control.  It is my process to show only what the highest quality is and I take more photos to ensure that I can provide you with a large amount of these images.  It is not my process to show any images other than those that were chosen as finest quality.  This is my strict policy.  Trust me when I tell you that those chosen were done with care and consideration.
CAN I HAVE THE UNEDITED AND THE EDITED FILES?   No and for two main reasons.  1) I shoot in RAW format.  More than likely you will not have the program to open the images on your home computer.  2) Editing is part of my style and you will ONLY receive edited images
