Silicone Wedding Rings

What is a silicone wedding ring?
A silicone wedding ring is just like a traditional wedding band but is not made out of metal, rather it is made primarily out of silicone. It has a firmer feel than rubber and is more durable.

Why would I want a silicone ring?
There are two main reasons these are growing in popularity. The first is the safety and comfort they provide for those with active lifestyles and jobs. This type of wedding band is non-conductive, reduces the chances of your finger or hand being trapped in equipment, dent and scuff resistant, hypo-allergenic and non-toxic, water-proof, highly heat tolerant, and a bit stretchy. All of these are attractive features, especially if you are an individual that works in a foundry, warehouse, factory...etc. The second reason for the growth in popularity is the low cost.

How much does this type of wedding ring cost?
On average they cost anywhere from twelve to forty dollars for a single band. Also, you can often get bundle deals if you would like to stack them or have a back-up on hand.

How long will one of these rings last?
This is a tough question to answer because the answer will depend on the style of the ring you choose, where you purchase it, and just how much abuse you will be putting your hands and ring through. That being said, my own husband has had one for two years and it is still holding up well. He is a welder so you can imagine what that poor ring has been through. In his personal scenario, it may need to be replaced in another year or two.

Are there different styles and colors to choose from?
Yes, there are a multitude of styles, colors, and patterns to choose from.

Where can I get one?
There are multiple retailers that carry them, but you will likely have the best luck searching online. I listed three online sources below. Check them out, see what they have to offer, and find your best fit!
